The former president's Granddaughter Seeks Professional Advice from Tiger Woods Ahead of LPGA First Appearance
The rising star boasts impressive social media audience
Kai Trump will have numerous well-known cheerleaders when she makes her LPGA debut this Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be connected to a former US president, obtained a tournament invitation to participate at the Annika tournament in the Sunshine State.
The former president, an avid golfer, owns multiple international courses and regularly competes against his granddaughter.
"He's fairly competent. I shouldn't elaborate but we have some close matches," she stated.
The golfer shared that her grandfather, who cannot attend, counseled her: "Just stay calm."
"He essentially told me to compete and relax," she added.
"From my perspective, he's just a normal grandpa. He can't make it this weekend. He's busy with presidential duties, making him rather occupied."
As an amateur, Kai has competed in only three events recently and has position 461 in the American Junior Golf Association rankings.
Yet she's able to get advice from golf legend, who is dating Kai's mother.
"He represents the greatest golfer globally," Kai expressed.
"Additionally, he's a more impressive individual. He advised me to compete, have fun, following whatever happens."
She'll challenge multiple the biggest names in women's golf at this tournament, including second-ranked the champion, British Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.
The LPGA stated that her participation helps introduce golf to wider groups, specifically among younger fans.
Kai boasts substantial online presence and just introduced a personal fashion and living label.
Her first tee time at 5:30 PM GMT.
