The price covers five days of painting tuition; all meals; and an excursion to the local castle and additional points of interest.

This Mediterranean foodie getaway, based at a riverside villa in the central Algarve, is inspired by the vegetarian dishes of renowned chefs. Participants will learn to produce selection of small dishes, take part in a hands-on falafel session, perfect brunch dishes such as shakshuka, and make hearty mains including spicy mushroom ragu and moussaka. The schedule includes trips to the village market and a local vineyard to taste Portuguese wines, plus leisure time for walks by the nearby river, to unwind on the terrace or swim in the pool. The accommodation, a renovated rural property, has five bedrooms, as well as safari tents in the gardens.

Street Dance in High Wycombe

This energetic camp is an uplifting, welcoming weekend dance intensive for adults in High Wycombe. The daily schedule each day is a high-energy group warmup, followed by three hour-and-a-half classes covering different urban dance forms, then an hour-long jam to show off those solos. Participants are split into groups based on skill level, so it is perfect for those who are completely new to street dance, all the way to advanced dancers or teachers. This event does not provide lodging but there are a number of hostels and hotels within walking distance, and it is 23-35 minutes by train into central London.

Sea Shanty Weekend in St Ives

St Ives is the perfect location for a maritime music retreat. Participants will be taught historic sailing songs from a folk singer and vocal coach, and have a go at writing their own. The schedule includes voice exercises, breath control techniques, stagecraft advice and a final evening concert. The retreat is held in a rural hotel with views of St Ives Bay. Writer and lecturer an experienced instructor runs the daily workshops on this authors' getaway. He explores everything from story structure, character development, setting and suspense, to sending manuscripts to agents. The retreat is held at a village-style hotel in Vamos at the foot of the Lefka Ori – ten one- and two-bedroom cottages surround a central garden with a pool (non-writing partners are encouraged to share). The Centre for Alternative Technology near Machynlleth runs a host of courses covering eco-living: from wildlife gardening to making pallet furniture.
