Kansas City Chiefs Confirm Domestic Violence Allegations Involving Player Rashee Rice
The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement on Wednesday evening stating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations made public in social media posts by a former girlfriend of player Rashee Rice and had been in communication with the NFL.
The team omitted the name of the player by name in their statement and stated they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name the athlete directly, shared a series of photos on social media that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. Jones did say the person involved was the parent of her kids, and it is known she has two children with the football player, whom the Chiefs drafted in the 2023 draft.

Player's Recent Off-Field Troubles
Rice missed the initial part of this season due to an NFL suspension for his role in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that resulted in multiple people injured. Rice was sentenced a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.
Statistically, he concluded the season with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Chiefs finished with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first time in a ten-year span.
