FC Barcelona Ready for Inaugural Game at Renovated Camp Nou this Saturday
Barça revealed they are set to host at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league over two years after they moved out to allow renovations to start.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans are permitted inside under the licence granted. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, a rise from the old capacity. Officials confirmed completed upgrades featured a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barcelona held a public practice inside the stadium in early November. The club said they were hoping for permission from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game against Eintracht Frankfurt in December at the stadium. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
